The ground handling regulation brings ground handling companies under direct regulatory oversight
As one example of EASA's broad and constantly evolving regulatory environment: the ground handling regulation, taking effect on 27 March 2028, brings ground handling companies directly under regulatory oversight for the first time. Previously, oversight reached them only indirectly, through the contracting airline. From that date, national authorities also inspect ground handling companies directly, alongside the airline's existing obligations.
